What do you do with your blog when you will be on vacation, or on those days you just don’t feel well enough to write a clearly thought out post?
Don’t despair…there are solutions.
Hire a Guest Writer
If you know you are going to be away, consider hiring someone to write for you. They can keep your blog going and even add a little “spice” to it. It’s always refreshing to gain a new perspective on things, and your readers will appreciate it.
If you go this route, make sure the person you hire has the same basic viewpoints as you do. And don’t ask someone who is a competitor, as they could end up taking your readers away from you. Invite someone who can write on topics that will be of interest to your market, but won’t directly compete with you.

With many email management systems (such as Aweber), you can schedule your broadcast messages in advance. This is a feature you will want to take advantage of if you are planning a vacation.
Write up some posts and schedule them so they come out on your regularly scheduled blogging days. Your readers will continue to hear from you as you sun yourself on the beach!
It’s also a good idea to write up some draft posts and just keep them in your blog’s dashboard. That way, if you’re not feeling well, or if a family emergency arises, you can quickly publish one of the draft posts you have written. You won’t be stressed over having to come up with a well-written post in a hurry or when you’re not feeling yourself. You can just draw on your pre-written supply of draft posts.
Our modern day technology has made it easy to keep in touch with your readers and subscribers. It’s a “set up and go” world now. So, why not use this to your advantage? You no longer have to be a slave to your blog, sitting there every day and writing a blog post. Use the scheduling function in your email manager system and find freedom!
