Here at Blogelina, I talk a lot about the importance of setting and reaching blog goals. We even feature a weekly link-up – 5 Blog Goals For This Week.
One thing I want to encourage you with – it’s only normal to encounter obstacles in the pursuit of your goals.
So, with that being said, here are some helpful, tested pointers that will keep your attention focused in achieving any goal that you put your mind to.
Step #1. Think positive.
This means: Do not quit. Especially when you’re midway into working toward a goal, there should be no room for quitting.
To quit is tantamount to going back to the starting line of goal accomplishment. That is time, energy, money, and a whole lot of things wasted and lost. It is more costly to quit than to find a solution to the problem, not to mention the frustration one feels.
So, don’t quit! You may need to re-evaluate your plan of action, but giving up altogether shouldn’t be an option.
Step #2. Write time into your schedule to work on your goals.
Let’s say you link up to our weekly blog goal linky – and you’ve got 5 great goals written for your upcoming week. This is a great start – so be sure to give yourself a good pat on the back!
Then, sit right back down and block out a chunk of time to work on each of those goals you wrote down. Plan to spend an hour on Tuesday working on Goal A, half an hour Thursday morning to work on Goal B, etc.
If you don’t do this, you’ll be amazed at how quickly next week comes and not a whole lot has been done on your goals.
Step #3. Persist and Persevere.
Be sure to exhaust every possibility, even to the point of trial and error, just to be sure that there is a solution to correct the problem you’re dealing with.
Step #4. Simulate.
Try to picture inside your head a possible solution to help overcome and/or solve the obstacle that’s setting you back.
Is your obstacle just plain old discouragement? Try joining a blogging buddy group and share your woes with your blogging mates. You’ll be surprised just how many people can relate to what you’re going through – and can offer you that boost you need to keep going!
Step #5. Get assistance.
If all fails get assistance from others who are more knowledgeable on the work being done. Having the advice of someone who has gone on before you in the blogging world can save you time, money, and frustration. If you’re stuck with your blog, consider getting some help from a pro!
