Today, we’re interviewing Liz (aka. The Cupcake Lady) from Hoosier Homemade about her recently released e-book. I’ve written in the past here at Blogelina about the benefits of having an e-book for your blog – as well as some ideas for how to actually go about writing one. I’m excited to hear from someone who has actually been there and done it – from the first word written to final publication!
What made you decide to write an ebook?
To reach another audience and help grow Hoosier Homemade
How did you go about deciding on the topic for your ebook?
I have 7,000+ subscribers for my Cupcake Chronicles Newsletter, so I knew there is interest in cupcakes.
How did you even get started with such a big task as writing an ebook?
I wrote out each month and jotted down several ideas for cupcakes for that month, then just narrowed it down from there.
How long did it take you to write your ebook?
Well the writing was the easy part, the cupcakes and photography is what took the longest. I’d say about 5 solid days of baking, decorating and photography.
What are a couple of things you did to launch your ebook?
I contacted bloggers who I already have a relationship with and asked if they would like to review “Cupcakes! 12 Months of Happiness” and host a giveaway.
What is one tip you would offer to someone who wants to write their own ebook?
Be sure you are ready to launch and have some devoted time to promoting. I have so many other things going on, I feel like I didn’t have enough time to work on it.
Tell us a little bit about your ebook:
In “Cupcakes! 12 Months of Happiness” you will find a cupcake for each month that is sure to please children and adults alike. And they are easy and kid-friendly!
